Scary uncontrolled crosswalk, especially at night.

This crosswalk goes through a large and high-speed intersection. All ways have stop signs, but cars still move very quickly. Especially at night, since this intersection is not particularly well-lit, this crosswalk feels very dangerous and it feels likely that a driver would fail to notice a pedestrian in the crosswalk since it’s so wide and there is so much going on. This seems to me like an instance where those button-activated flashing yellow warning lights might work quite well. A raised curb/island in the (currently painted) median would also make the crossing distance feel shorter.
